Get started with GIS Copilot

  1. Install QGIS
    1. Download QGIS (which version? windows vs mac?)
  • Go to the QGIS official website (https://qgis.org/)
  • Click on “Download” from the homepage, or go directly to the download section at the top navigation menu

  • Select your operating system (Windows, MacOS, Linux)
  • Select your version. You will typically see two options:
    • Long Term Release (LTR) – More stable, recommended for most users
    • Latest Release – Newest features but may have bugs

For reliability, we recommend users to choose the LTR version

 

    1. Install QGIS
  1. Install the GIS Copilot plugin
    1. From the QGIS plugin search page within the QGIS software (this is recommended)
    2. Download the QGIS plugin as a zip file from the QGIS plugin repository (provide link) and install
    3. Trouble shooting the potential issues related to the installation.
  2. Setting up the GIS Copilot
    1. Input the API key (GIBD Key or OpenAI key)
    2. Change the default workspace
  3. Get a GIBD API key from the UMS
    1. Registration
    2. Generate and copy the key
  4. Explain how to use the GUI
  5. Demonstrations
    1. Showcase some queries
    2. Go back to the UMS to check the usage
